What is ¡Más Fresco! Plus?

The University of California San Diego is expanding the existing ¡Más Fresco! More Fresh Nutrition Incentive program. The expanded program, known as ¡Más Fresco! Plus, provides community members who are experiencing health disparities, including food insecurity and diet-related chronic disease, with a box of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, from a local San Diego farm, delivered to their home.

If you enrolled before September 1, 2023, you will receive deliveries about twice a month for 12 months until you receive 24 deliveries total. This 12-month program has reached capacity and is closed.

If you enrolled after September 1, 2023, you will receive deliveries weekly for about 6 months until you receive 24 deliveries total.

To reach out to community members across San Diego County, we are partnering with community-based organizations to help us promote ¡Más Fresco! Plus.

This program is part of a University of California San Diego research study that aims to learn how nutrition incentives provided through ¡Más Fresco! Plus affect access to healthy foods, and how they help people consume more fruits and vegetables for better health.
